OK OK this toppic is not new but
I got xmms running ...
I now that I do not need to mount audio CD
but I have no clue eitgher how to play it nor of all the base requirements ( maybe kernel stuff)

You have to use 'Play Directory' and specify the mountpoint of your cdrom (unmounted). _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |

AND I TRIED all the time /dev/cdrom or /dev/hdc etc
things can be that easy ..

Make sure that you have read and write permissions to the cdrom device (on my system it's /dev/cdroms/cdrom0). Should work if you add your user to the cdrom group. |

Upon reading this thread I realised it was something to do. But what fs do audio cds use? The isoXXXX that came with my fstab seems to sit poorly with 'mount'
