When I do "emerge world", many packages are installed...and there are often post-installation messages for each package. Are these messages output to a log file? I would like to read these, but I do not want to sit at my computer the whole time upgrades are being performed....nor do I want to sort through a log file that shows each and every file that was compile, copied and removed.
Thanks.
[Solved] ---thanks!

you can enable logging by putting PORT_LOGDIR=/some/path in /etc/make.conf. after emerge'ing a package, there will be (usually) two log files in that dir. the second (most recent) file should contain post-installation messages, if any. _________________ Please append [Solved] to your thread if appropriate, it helps everyone. |
