|
|
I just installed mozilla launcher 1.41.
If i installe mozilla-firefox-bin-1.0.6-r1, mozilla-thnuderbird-bin-1.0.6r1 refuse to start :
Quote: | /usr/bin/thunderbird: can't find the browser |
If i then re-install thunderbird without unemerging anithing, thunderbird works, but firefox not !
In one word, i only get to have one of the 2 working currently.
Any ideas ? |

It seems that thunderbird's ebuild is broken as it erases /opt/firefox dir on emerge doing rm -rf ${ROOT}${MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME} in pkg_preinst() Didn't find any relevant bug so I've submitted a new one: bug #100014. |

I just installed firefox, copied the /opt/firefox directory off somewhere. installed thunderbird and then copied firefox back. It was too early in the morning to do too much forensics |

I fixed this by copying the thunderbird-bin ebuild to my /usr/local/portage tree and changing /opt/firefox to /opt/thunderbird everywhere it appeared in the ebuild. I don't know why the ebuild was trying to install into the firefox-bin installation directory in the first place. Leaving it the old way just meant that whichever package was installed last would work, but not the other. |
