To change the default foot logo into something a little nicer, grab the icon file located here:
http://www.gentoo.org/images/icons/l33t_LOG_gentoo2.png
I'm going to assume you save the file to /home/#user#/images/icons/gentoo2.png
Now su to root (or use sudo) and:

cp /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-logo-icon-transparent.png /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-logo-icon-transparent.png.bak
cp /home/#user#/images/icons/gentoo2.png /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-logo-icon-transparent.png
killall gnome-panel

That will replace the default foot with a nice grey gentoo logo |
