És normal que la carpeta /boot/ estigui repetida fins a 40 vegades una dintre l'altre (/boot/boot/boot/...) i amb el mateix contingut? Si és així, perquè?

No és normal.
Suposo que el millor és simplement esborrar el que et sobra (això sí, fes una còpia de seguretat!!!!)

Sembla ser que hi hagi un enllaç a boot/ a dins de /boot i això generi recursivitat als directoris...  És ben extrany.

I tot i que no ho sé cert, crec que té alguna cosa a veure amb el genkernel o grub... només aviso que no l'esborreu, jo ho vaig fer i al següent reinici el ordinador ja no va arrencar. Em va caler inserir el LiveCD i reparar l'enllaç.  |

Doncs jo vaig borrar l'enllaç i de moment no he tingut cap problema greu. Tan sols em passa que si reinicio l'ordinador i inento carregar gentoo em surt:

No se si té res a veure amb aquest enllaç que he esborrat però tan sols cal que apagui l'ordinador i l'engegui de nou per poder entrar a gentoo sense problemes (a part dels que tinc per instal·lar i configurar el què vull)
