Ok, I decided to use the kernel drivers for my Maestro 2.5 laptop sound chip. Didn't see that Alsa would buy me anything.
So, following the Linux Sound HOWTO, it says to check if /dev/dsp is present. If not, it indicates to use the distro's /dev/MAKEDEVS script.
I dont see that in gentoo.
How does one do that ?
Update:
Ok, so it gets created automatily with devsf.conf, after the reboot!!!
So, it appears to be working now. |
