--- 2.6.13--rc1-vivid1 info ---

this is patchset for 2.6.13-rc1-mm1.
aplly it on top of mm1.
its just like CK for mm + vesa-tng and fbsplash + genetic anticipatory.

and ps. this is just for fun and its a kind of playground , and also to see & feel new mm features but with the Con's Staircase CPU Scheduler policy(ies)

whats in it?
Code:

--based on full 2.6.13-rc1-ck1--
(cfq3 patches are already in mm)

1gb_lowmem.diff (ck)
sched-run_normal_with_rt_on_sibling.diff (ck)
2.6.13-rc1_to_staircase11.3.difff (ck)
irqbal_fast.txt - http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/mbligh/ (mjb)
def_iosched_select_menu.diff (fallow)
fbsplash-0.9.2-r4-2.6.13-rc1.patch (spock)
genetic-as-sched-2.6.11-gl1.patch (J.Moilanen)
genetic-io-sched-2.6.11-gl1.patch (J.Moilanen)
genetic-lib-2.6.11-gl1.patch (J.Moilanen)
genetic-as-usb-oops-fix.diff (J.Moilanen)
inotify-45-no-oops.diff (bosyotech)
isobatch_ionice2.diff (ck)
mapped_watermark3.diff (ck)
rt_ionice.diff (ck)
schedbatch2.8.diff (ck)
schediso2.12.diff (ck)
schedrange.diff (ck)
smp-nice-support6.diff (ck)
mm-IKtimer-set-again-to-1000.diff - in mm def is now 250, again to 1000 for destkops.
usbhid-readd-kconfig-r1.patch (krejler)
vesafb-tng-0.9-rc7-r1-2.6.13-rc1.patch (spock)

// why genetic anticipatory again ?
// a quote from J.Moilanen :
//  "The best news I have gotten from doing this paper is stellar results in the Anticipatory IO
//   scheduler. On average, I was seeing 8.72% improvement, and up to 23.22% improvement in
//   therandom write workload."

dont forget to install schedtool to using sched_iso and sched_batch staircase policies ;)

NO ANY ATI / NVIDIA fixes here , its working with my NVIDIA card and drivers from portage with AGPGART
Possibly fixing should be on driver side, not kernel space.

Everybody know that mm is just exactly a kind of playground for 2.6 so by this it can be potentially bugged. If You have some problem of course You can post here , but if You have errors and it seems that its mm fault, test pure mm then , and then if error still happens , report it to LKML.

cheers

How does it behave on your box, compared to love, fallow? I'm curious.
