|
|
I'm definetly liking the speed
but i've got a few questions:
- How does one start nautilus without letting nautilus painting the desktop
(i don't want the icons but i do want the openbox-menus and the file manager)
- How can i configure openbox to focus the newest created window?
- How do I start some apps @ startup? Ok, i could search the website but since i'm asking questions anyway
thanks,
stijn

the nautilus trick: nautilus --no-desktop
the focus on new window trick : in ~/.openbox/rc file
set "session.screen0.focusNewWindows" True
I haven't found a trick for starting other apps on startup, because I have gdm starting openbox, it seems to ignore the ~/.xinitrc
And I found a new question to ask. When I start gnome-panel, it always loses the theme I set the previous time and it gives me the default theme of gnome. How can i make this change permanent?

i think if you use gdm, you would use the .xsession file instead of .xinitrc to load programs at start... but i dont use gdm, xdm, etc... so i am not entirely sure
hope this helps

If you use gdm, edit the file in /etc/X11/Sessions/openbox3 to specify which programs you want to load at startup. Hope that helps. |

There is also a gconf key to turn off the nautilus desktop painting. _________________ Think about your breathing.
