Hi,
Befoer I start, I just want to say I've extensively searched the forums and nothing really helped. I searched, really! I know it looks redundant.
Here's the problem:
I have 2 computers, Gentoo (latest everything) and Windows (xp) at home. I have a netgear router which is also a switch and it's acting as a dhcp server.
I installed samba. Looked at smb.conf and the only change I did to it is changing the workgroup to match windows.
I'm on my windows machine, when I download from the gantoo box it works great.
When I upload, it works great for a few seconds then the traffic goes almost to 0 and windows kinda freezes and I have to force the shared folder to close and I have to reboot windows because it's stupid.
Now the funny thing is that a week ago I uploaded with no problem.
So I tried to fix the problem, I look at my kernel and smb wasn't enabled so I do that. Nothing really changes.
I look at my smb.conf file and read some suggestions.
I changed
and
and Code: | ; domain master = yes |
to see if anything chagnes and this didn't affect anything. Otherwise the smb.conf is unchanged from the original.
Thanks a lot in advance, I'm just tired of fighting... I give up. |
