|
|
Hi all,
I've just installed the nvidia-glx module and have reached the section in the instructions:
opengl-update nvidia
and receive the following error (whilst in X):
Error couldn't find RGB GLX visual
How do I go about sorting this?
Cheers,

I don't know if that's the issue, but it would be safer to do opengl-update while X is not running. |

If that was a question. the answer is: outside of X, it does what it is supposed to do, i think.
If that was a statement, then you should probably recompile opengl-update. |

If I were a betting man, I'd venture that your computer isn't on 16 bit or 24 bit color. 3D acceleration will only work in those two color modes. Edit your xorg.conf to force it to be in 16 or 24 bit color modes only, and then try again. |

OK I changed xorg.conf but still have the same problem.
In answer to rusty, to me it didn't seem to do anything. The ? was asking if this was right or not.... I'll try and be a little clearer with my english from now on.
I'll retry the nvidia set-up from the beginning to see if that works. |

in your xorg.conf file make sure that your RBG path matches where they are actually at. _________________ System Specs:

They should normally be where xorgconfig links to. But you could do a whereis or some other search utility to find them. Maybe that path doesn't exist or it is a bad system link. _________________ System Specs:
