Hi,
I have a promise rocket 133S IDE controller which is working perfectly with my ultra5. I'm curious as to whether or not i can put my root partition onto one of these drives, provided my boot partition is on the original ultra5 onboard controller? Is this possible? Will i need to alter my silo.conf or just my fstab?
Cheers,
John |

You will need to change the root= kernel parameter, of course.
Other than that, there should be no problems whatsoever.
Oh, and make sure support for the card is in your kernel, but that is kind of obvious... _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

Well, its working fine. The system feels a lot less sluggish. I just need some more ram and a usb controller now. 128mb =
