|
|
This is strange. I emerged xfce4 on an amd64 box. Compile went fine, startxfce4 command fired up the window manager. Everything looked fine the keyboard. When I use the keyboard outside of xfce4, the characters are correct (i.e., a "z" is a "z"). However, with xfce4, pressing the "z" button gives a "y".
I did a little experimenting. The "z" and "y" are interposed (one gets the other). The others are:
@ gives "
# gives the Section symbol
^ gives &
& gives /
* gives (
( gives )
) gives =
... there are several more.
I'm not sure what the problem is. When I'm outside of xfce, everything seems in order. Note, I'm on a laptop. I used the standard 101 keyboard (US) in my xorg.conf file.
The box in question:
HP Pavilion zv6000
Athlon64 3500+
1 GB RAM
2.6.13-gentoo-r2 |

looks like you get german layout. Check your locale or try to erase xfce config files. |
