Just emerged it and it broke my compiler

Code:
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

I'm confused. First, you post that you don't know how to fix it, and then you post a link to a fix. Does this mean that it did, or that it didn't work for you?

Good fix...thanks for the link to the bug report. I flipped and flopped for a couple of days befor finding this thread.

Doing that:

/usr/bin/binutils-config 1

solved the problem. Thanks!
