I'd like to use the startxdfb, since on my laptop with savage IX card, it doesnt realy differ that much from using X (mainly sylpheed and phoenix that I use anyway)
problem is, it just halts for a while when loading Fluxbox.
log doesnt say anything ablout it.
I seen this mentioned before, but problem is, it all used to work without slowdown at all before I did an emptytree upgrade of my system, using new use-settings.
it didnt differ that much, but I had it all working nice with a stage 3 pentium3 tarbal and my use settings, and then I decided i'd like to recompile my system entirely with these settings.

any idea's why it takes startxdfb a while to find the windowmanager??

I don't know if it's related at all but I had mayor a major slowdown when starting X after upgrade. Remerging fontconfig solved that.
