I love the client, intergrates perfectly with my palm :D

That's one of the reasons I use evolution (one of, not the).

Instead of using a separate program to manage my Palm contacts, datebook, to-do list, etc., I just use Evolution.

Great program... :)

AFAIK is Korn not a mail client. It is just a simple mail checker. Or is there a Korn mail client, too?

I also use Sylpheed.

I stopped using Evolution (it lost one too many outgoing mails for me) and now use Sylpheed-claws. It's excellent.

Gotta add my vote for sylpheed

I tried mozilla mail, and was very impressed, but that thing takes ages to load on an athlon 700. Sylpheed is nice, clean and does everything that it should quickly.

Add another tally for sylpheed.

I used to use kmail because it had the same qt widgets as the rest of my kde desktop at the time, but the threading of messages was atrocious. That's when I found sylpheed. It does what it has to do efficiently, and has tons of *useful* features.

I mainly started the poll for kicks and I don't know all of the email programs out there but korn is listed as a mail program or client in my programs menu. I just finnished emerging Evolution and it worked fine. I got alot of invalid pointer errors and some others but it was all worked out durring compilation and the program runs fine. Its an awsome email program. There are alot of usefull tools and it reminds me alot of outlook in windows the good part being that it looks familiar but runs way faster. I will not be using kmail anymore.

One things that I do not like is that mozilla had to be merged with evolution. I don't need all these damn browsers :D

I use kmail although I'd probably be happy with quite a few of the email clients that run in Linux as there are quite a few good ones. I used to use Netscape mail (4.x) a few years ago back when my main system was dual boot so I could use the same mail folder in both windows and Linux which was quite handy, I imagine that would work with Mozilla mail also.

Sylpheed-claws, extremly fast. Only need it for fast text editing. Use fetchmail - procmail for filtering messages and postfix for sending so I can also use emacs for mail. Evolution is a nice outlook-express clone, but it startup time is too long, although it has improved tremendously (few seconds) still sylpheed is almost instant. it's simple, gtk based and it can do every thing I need, I don't need a calender and virtual-maps, but it's also a great piece of work.

So, would a real "hardcore" Gentoo user go for Sylpheed-claws instead of Sylpheed? What are the implications?
