I'm fairly new to Gentoo, and I went to do emerge -uDv world, but I got an error. I looked at the block and tried to unmerge it, but I get an error saying that the file or directory doesn't exist. Anyways, here's what I get:

emerge -uDvp world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] <app-admin/gnome-system-tools-1.1.91 (is blocking app-admin/system-tools-backends-1.2.0)
....

I tried the following to unmerge, but didn't make any progress:

$ emerge --unmerge gnome-system-tools-1.1.91

--- Couldn't find gnome-system-tools-1.1.91 to unmerge.

>>> unmerge: No packages selected for removal.

I also tried:

$ emerge --unmerge app-admin/gnome-system-tools-1.1.91

and got the same error.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I think you missed something.....
Quote:

So, " < " means any version less than 1.1.91. If you do "emerge -C gnome-system-tools -av" the offending package should be listed. You can then unmerge it.
