HI,
Having a few problems with my Ultra 10 in relation to my parallel port. I'm trying to use a external relay board which I've used before on x86 boxes without any hassle, but it's not working at all on the Sun. Using PyParallel (http://pyserial.sourceforge.net/pyparallel.html) to control things. However my problem is accessing the port:
I'm running 2.4.30, and I need to build the module ppdev. Where can I select it in menuconfig?! I've built in "parport" and "parport_pc" - no problems, "dmesg" gives me:
parport0: PC-style at 0x1fff13043bc (0x1fff13047bc), irq 7067264, dma 0 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP,DMA]
If I modprobe "lp" then /dev/printers/0 appears (I'm using devfs)
However, nowhere can I find any option to build ppdev - which is really annoying, as I can see /usr/src/linux-2.4.30-sparc/drivers/char/ppdev.c. Googling on where to select ppdev with make menuconfig only finds me people talking about selecting drivers/char/* which I don't have. Also, /dev/parport0 never appears.... or /dev/parports/*....
Anyone got /dev/parports, use parallel ports for anything other than lp, and use 2.4.30? If so, can I see you .config?
