I just got my server system setup on an older Tyan Tyger mobo, with dual Athlon MP 1900 CPU's, 512MG of ECC Registered ram, two WD HD's, older geforce 2 video card, couple of NIC cards, a PVR250, and a SB Live. Stage 3 hardened i686, hardened-sources-2.6.11-r13. Currently running Apache2, MySQL, PureFTPd, samba, and X.org with Fluxbox. The CPUs have the oem AMD cpu fans on them. The case is a large server tower with lots of vents, 400w PS, two exhaust fans in the back and one intake in the front. Gkrellm/lmsensors reports that both of my cpu's and the 3rd temp (mobo?) are running between 77 and 80 C. IIRC, my old single Athlon XP 1900 used to run at 35 C. Are the MP's supposed to run hot, or am I going to melt them down?

Are you sure the temp is in Celcius? 77C = 171 deg F!!

My single Athlon XP 2500+ runs between 45 and 48C (113 and 118F).
