Hi, I'm going try to make my own ebuild for my favorite XMail mail server. To prevent this ebuild from erasing on emerge rsyncs I've read in FAQ to switch to using cvs. But gentoo.org refuses connection on CVS Pserver's port!
What should I do?
Sergey

I am not exactly sure what you want to achieve with cvs, but you might want to use PORTDIR_OVERLAY instead for your own ebuilds.
Set for example PORTDIR_OVERLAY=/usr/local/portage in /etc/make.conf and you can have your private portage tree in /usr/local/portage. Keep you ebuilds there, and they won't get deleted by emerge rsync.

Perhaps that helps,
Larde.

The FAQ needs to be updated. Anonymous CVS was disabled several months ago due to excessive load.

You can use the web interface to cvs on gentoo.org, think theres a link under documentation at the bottom.
