|
|
I am having basically the same problem as found in this thread https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=19572, the difference being I'm not using Fluxbox.
Basically, I'm running KDE 3.1.0 on 2.4.19-gentoo-r10 in a dual P2. emerging openoffice appears to compile and install OpenOffice 1.0.1-r3
Code: | app-office/openoffice
selected: none
protected: 1.0.1-r3
omitted: none
>>> clean: No packages selected for removal.
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
>>> Auto-cleaning packages ...
>>> No outdated packages were found on your system.
* GNU info directory index is up-to-date.
* IMPORTANT: 1 config files in /etc need updating.
* Type emerge --help config to learn how to update config files.

After this I try and run OpenOffice and get this:
Code: | wintermute / # ooffice
running openoffice.org setup...
setup failed.. abort
wintermute / # ls /opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.1
setup spadmin user

No program dir as needed. The thread I mentioned pinned the blame on fluxbox and -newwmspec... I have had SANDBOX both enabled and disabled.
Posting to Desktops as the previous occurence was Fluxbox's fault. Hints/suggestions/fixes/death threats? |

If you touch her again, I'll KILL YOU!
Now as far as help goes... why is OpenOffice such a monster? Can you just install the -bin distribution? Or is that what you did? I wasn't paying attention... _________________ Best,
