Hi,

I managed to get LCD brightness working on my VGN-B1VP using the sony_acpi kernel patch, and I wrote my own daemon program to detect the keypresses and send the correct information to /proc/acpi/sony/brightness. However, when KDE loads, it also runs a process that monitors /dev/sonypi, so my program hardly ever sees the events.

Is there a way anyone knows to turn the thing in KDE off since it doesn't work anyway? (it just pops up with Unhandled Event each time)

Thanks
