Zrobilem sobie framebuffer z gensplashem wg. http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_fbsplash

Jednak nie potrafie w zaden sposob zmusic go do pracy na wyzszym odswiezaniu.
W lilo mam wpis:
Code:
append="video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1024x768-32@85 splash=silent,theme:livecd-2005.0"

Code:
gogiel@gogiel gogiel $ fbset -i

mode "1024x768-85"
    # D: 94.500 MHz, H: 68.677 kHz, V: 84.997 Hz
    geometry 1024 768 1024 1536 32
    timings 10582 208 48 36 1 96 3
    hsync high
    vsync high
    rgba 8/16,8/8,8/0,8/24
endmode

Frame buffer device information:
    Name        : VESA VGA
    Address     : 0xd8000000
    Size        : 6291456
    Type        : PACKED PIXELS
    Visual      : TRUECOLOR
    XPanStep    : 0
    YPanStep    : 1
    YWrapStep   : 1
    LineLength  : 4096
    Accelerator : No

ale i tak to jest zawyzone, bo monitor pokazuje mi 48/60hz.

/etc/fb.modes tez zdaje sie ignorowac
Code:
gogiel@gogiel gogiel $ cat /etc/fb.modes
mode "1280x1024"
   # D: 157.50 MHz, H: 91.15 kHz, V: 85.02 Hz
   geometry 1280 1024 1280 1024 32
   timings 6349 224 64 44 1 160 3
endmode

Moj kernel to 2.6.10-gentoo-r6

Niestety winna jest karta nVidia. Karty tej serii 5900* nie współpracują z vesa-tng. Można zmienic rozdzielczość ale nie da rady zmienic odświerzania. Tu masz link: http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/vesafb-tng/troubleshooting.php

Rozumiem, ze to samo tyczy sie kart nVidia z serii 5700?!
Wkompilowanie w kernel vesafb-tng z ustawiona rozdzielczoscia i odswiezaniem nic nie dalo.

a co z :

1) wgraniem nowego image biosu ze zmienionym defualtowym refresh rate ?
2) uzyciem vesa-rrc ?

kiedy takze mialem podobne problemy z vesa-tng, na vesa-rrc nie bylo takich .
no tyle ze vesa-rrc juz nie zaklada wlasnego watku do kontrolowania ustawien ekranu ...

cheers.

CONFIG_FB_VESA_TNG=y
CONFIG_FB_VESA_DEFAULT_MODE="1280x1024@75"

To samo się tyczy Radeona 9550 - za nic nie mogę ustawić na vesa-tng wyzszej częstotliwości. Na radeonfb daje radę (z tego co pamiętam;)) ale wtedy gryzie się z fglrx...

radeony nie są kompatybilne z VESA 3.0, a to jest warunek działania wyższych częstotliwości przy vesa-tng. Ja mam nadzieję kupić sobie niedługo LCD, więc problem mi zniknie ;-)

http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/vesafb-tng/archive/vesafb-rrc-0.1.6-2.6.x.tar.bz2

przykladowy plik kernel_src/arch/i386/boot/vesafb_modes.h dla 1024x768@85Hz
( tak sie wlasnie configuruje vese-rrc , potem kompilacja jadra ) .
( do wyliczenia innych timingow mozna uzyc xvidtune )

Code:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
# Format:     HorizontalSyncTotal, HorizontalSyncStart, HorizontalSyncEnd
#             VerticalSyncTotal, VerticalSyncStart, VerticalSyndEnd

przyklad dla lilo
Code:

image=/boot/bzImagejakistam
label=gentoo_jakiestam
root=/dev/hda10
vga=0x517
append="root=/dev/hda10 init=/linuxrc video=vesa:ywrap,mtrr"

vga=0x517 to wlasnie 1024x768 , no i troche inaczej video , w stosunku do vesa-tng :)
