I am trying to get sftp to log along the same lines as standard ftp does to /var/log/xferlog but I can't seem to find a relevent switch.
I know sftp-server is a subsystem started by sshd and so i have had a look at the sshd.conf and the only logging there is log levels to /var/log/messages and the actual connection, not the traffic of files.
Any ideas anyone? |

Hmm...well I have look around a fair bit and I am told after OpenSSH 3.1, I can use SftpSyslogFacility in /etc/ssh/sshd_config.
My Gentoo (1.4rc2) is OpenSSH 3.5 but if I try and use this option (it doesn't have a default) I am told:
Code: | Starting sshd:/etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 68: Bad configuration option: SftpSyslogFacility
/etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 1 bad configuration options |
Anyone else logged sftp-server before? |
