ho una scheda ati rage 3d mobility

Non riesco a capire se e come posso abilitare l'accellerazione 3d.
ho provato gli ati-driver ma non sembrano andare.... o io non li so far andare!
Ho un kernel gentoo-2.6.11
Come faccio?

avevo seguito un altro howto. ho provato anche con questo.... l'errore rimane sempre lo stesso
