hello
i was just wondering what sort of applications people are using for multimedia, specifically cd audio-extraction and playback. On gentoo, i use amaroK as a medialib and for playback (too bad it's kde), grip w/ cdparanoia for cdda, and easytag to keep everything nicely tagged... i haven't been able to find any equivalent tools under mac os x so far yet tho. Ogg vorbis support is practically non-existant, as is secure ripping (cdparanoia doesn't compile). xmms2 is looking very promising, it's cross-platform and actively being developed on os x, looks like an audio player done right for once (server architecture, media library, very modular).
So yeah, if anybody has any tips, i'd be interested I've never really taken a liking to iTunes, due to the way it handles the playlist (no current playlist that you can add tracks to), and support for anything but apple endorsed audio formats is of course unavailable, and impossible to implement. anyway, my two cents...
