|
|
I have a HP Deskjet 712c. I use CUPS and use the pnm2ppa driver. I can print from the gimp, but the results look extremely awful. Does anyone else with a Deskjet 710 or 712c know how to make the Gimp print out pretty pictures ?
I know my printer is capable of it in Linux because the CUPS test page had sharp detail and vivid color, but printing from the Gimp looks block, and the color looks horrid. |

Heya crimson,
From the gimp manual i got this for you, might help :
Quote: | Before you start to print from Gimp, you should know that only the active layer of a layered image will be printed, so you must first flatten (right-click|Layers|Flatten Image) your image before printing. We're not going to discuss UNIX printing subsystems, spooling methods and the like, as it's beyond the scope of this book. |

Thanks, but the only pictures I've tried printing so far have been flattened. |
