Hi! I would like to view my images (mostly PNGs and JPGs) under _terminal_ (console, bashshell, whatever you call it; not under X). I remember I did it once, but forgot which program I used. Can you give me a hint?
I guess that program uses /dev/fb, but it's no problem, since I have it and can watch videos under console with mplayer. So there should be some apps that just show images, right??
Thanks for all help!
Cheers,

There are some potentially suitable programs at the following place:

Grav sounds like it might be just what you want.

Thanks for the links, Paul! Very useful. I took a look at some apps, finally emerged zgv. It emerged well, but there's a problem....
When I'm in non-X mode I get a message:
Code: | Cannot open /dev/svga |
It's not so strange, 'cause as a matter of a fact, I don't have any /dev/svga (I tripple-checked it, also as root)!
But, if I run zgv *in* X, the screen becomes black for a second or so (something like when you start a movie with mplayer and it changes mode) but then it just exits, no image shown.
What's wrong?? Where's my /dev/svga? Any suggestions?
Cheers,
