I have a fresh amd64 install running 2.6.11-gentoo-r3. The workstation is very slow. It appears that events/0 (process 3) is taking all CPU. Any one have any clues on how to solve this problem. events/0 runs consistently taking 90% of the CPU. I let the boot process run, and it took 25 minutes to get to a boot prompt from the grub loader.

Solution:

After some research, I figured that ndiswrapper 1.1 was causing the problem. I removed version 1.1 from my laptop, and added ndiswrapper from cvs. Everything is cool now.

I found that removing ndiswrapper solved the problem. I am upgrading to gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r7 and recompiling ndiswrapper. Maybe this will solve the problem.
