From the error message it can't find xmkmf.

What's going on?

I have the same error.

Any ideas whats wrong....

last time i did the install (last night) i had a python error, which turned out to be a bug

today i get this error lol.

Have you tried the solution posted[1] in the forums elsewhere? I'm having the same problem, trying the solution now.

Bug 91158 has the fix.

This solution is better than the forums link given 2 posts ago, as it will work if emerge groff fails even if user already has USE="-X".

Actually, that doesn't fix it, at least not for me. As I posted on IRC...

The solution in that bug report doesn't work. First of all the line number is different on my ebuild, and second it still errors out being unable to find xmkmf. Removing the line in question doesn't help, nor does creating a dummy xmkmf file with execute permissions.

Thanks for that. It has fixed the problem.

Out of interest was it a bad or missing dependency in the portage tree?
