NVIDIA: Invalid module format ??[SOLVED]

Hi.

I've been trying very hard to figure this out.. but to no avail. I have no probs w/ an "nv" configuration, but trying to get nvidia-kernel to load so that I can use "Twinview" has got me puzzled. I have the most recent nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx installed.

Here are some files. If the kernel config or other files are needed, I'll post that too. Thank You very much!

Upon autoload at boot, I get:

From the error message it gives you it looks like you should make sure you kernel and the nvidia module are compiled with the same GCC. Try re-compiling your kernel with GCC 3.4 then re-emerging nvidia-glx. I think that should fix it.

I have had that error when my /usr/src/linux wasn't linked to the correct kernel source. It should be pointed to the same one that you boot into when you emerge nvidia-kernel.

# uname -r
2.6.11.7
# file /usr/src/linux
/usr/src/linux: symbolic link to `linux-2.6.11.7'
