Hi guys,
When I remotely (via ssh login) reboot a machine the box begins to shutdown but hangs midway. No net access and most of the services have been stopped but not all. It only finishes shutting down when I change the virtual terminal to F6 or F7 (can't remember which).
Any ideas? |

I'm not sure why that would happen. But maybe you can try sending the reboot command along with the ssh login request as such:
ssh username@sshbox reboot
This works for any other command as well.
Good luck. |

If it hangs because of the connection you have: try issuing "reboot" and immediately afterwards logging out (this is how I do it here). Or try doing the reboot in a screen session and detach...
However, don't forget to check the logs on _where_ it stops rebooting. The problem can be elsewhere... |
