|
|
Hey all,
Well, I bought a new box, and installed Gentoo on it - took a couple of tries, but I'm quite happy with the result; everything except for one thing right now...
SimICQ 0.8.1 is quirky for me. Sometimes, when I send a message to someone, the focus is lost out of the message window, to somewhere else... I'm not sure why. It doesn't do it for all my contacts, just some of them.
Before running Gentoo, I was running Slackware, as I'm sure a lot of you used to do... I ran this very same version of SimICQ, and I did not have this problem. Has anyone else run into this before?
I'm quite confused. Oh, and by the way, licq-console won't build for me either. normal licq with qt-gui or kde-gui doesn't download the serverside contact list either. I'm quite confused by that as well.
Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on these matters, it would be much appreciated. Many thanks, and happy gentoo'ing! _________________ James Addison

It probably has something to do with the version of qt or kde that's being used. You're building it as a kde app I guess? Maybe try simicq from cvs and see if it's any better.
Kopete from cvs right now is very stable and works well, probably pretty close to being released as 0.6. If you try Kopete don't use the ebuild, the cvs version is much much better. |

licq does has the exact same behavior, kde-gui plugin... I'm starting to think it's a kde issue.
I'm running licq with the kde-gui plugin inside of fluxbox. deos this shed any light on the issue for anyone?
I'm sure if I was running KDE DM, everything would be fine...

i had the same issue with sim, and got tired of it today so i decided to look into the code and it looks like its very easy to fix:
just add
Code: |
edtChat->setFocus();
|
to the last line of: void ChatWindow::sendLine()
and recompile
it seems to work here..
