|
|
Hello,
whenever I try to use
Code: | echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep | my laptop goes indeed to sleep...
but the annoying thing, is that it won't wake up!
Basically, the screen and the cdrom get turned on but then nothing, it is like if the HDD doesn't wake or the RAM ?
Any idea?
btw, I'm using swsusp for hibernate, don't jnow if that's relevant here?
Thanks in advance

what laptop?
could be some kernel parameters you have to pass during boot like acpi=s3_bios or similar. but what model and chipsets do you use. _________________ -- erol |

If these info are not sufficient, let me know what command I should type to give you the appropriate ones
Thanks

That is enough, but if you like to you can add more
Append a "acpi_sleep=s3_bios" to your kernel during boot and enjoy. _________________ -- erol |

Eheh Thanks! it did the trick.
It goes quickly to sleep and wake up quite fastly too, but then there is a kind of lagging for a while (without cpu activity) before being able to fully use laptop, even in command mode to do "ls"
So now, let's find out what are the main advantage between hibernate and sleep, since I got both working woohooo
