Has anyone pulled this off? I'm trying to get my pcmcia bus working, and it doesn't wan't to fire up. I'm getting the "cardmgr[pid]: no sockets detected!" error. I'm searching the forums and all that good stuff, but my spidey-sense tells me it may be a Win-hardware problem. Hp has worked very hard to make a Win-laptop and, judging by my conversations with them, seem to be very proud of that fact. |

just bought one used and have had one small issue with the pcmcia, I had orginally built pcmcia in the kernel and every once in awhile it would almost seem to reset the pcmcia. I ended up emerging pcmcia-cs and setting it to run default and sense then have had no problems. I did leave pcmcia in the kernel as modules though.
