how to connect two linux boxes like samba with windows?

i was wondering how to connect two linux boxes with similar way to connect linux and windows with samba for file sharing. NFS? how to use it?

NFS is a good way to do this, though the setup is a bit involved. Here is a howto for NFS. You could also check this thread.

If you're already using samba to share files between linux and windows, you could always just use samba between the linux boxes as well. That way you cut out some extra setup time and overhead.
