Has anyone taken a look at this?
http://www.mediaapplicationserver.net
It looks very very cool. Complements X networking abilities for audio *and* video. Has already some gtk2 tools (mp3 player, videoconferencing).
Saw it at the Gnome roundup... |

I just compiled this and it seems to work with the wav player they include. I am hoping to get it working with xmms to get some remote mp3s going.

If you just want to listen to mp3s remotely, why not stream them with something like edna http://edna.sourceforge.net/ |

I'm not sure why there is any need for this... already there is NAS, esd, aRtsd... |

This should be able to do video. Think about synchronization.
Anyway, it would be sweet if just exporting DISPLAY redirected sound. |
