What the?
Code:
# emerge mythgallery
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) media-plugins/mythgallery-0.17-r1 to /
>>> md5 files   ;-) ChangeLog
>>> md5 files   ;-) metadata.xml
>>> md5 files   ;-) mythgallery-0.17-r1.ebuild
>>> md5 files   ;-) mythgallery-0.17.ebuild
>>> md5 files   ;-) mythgallery-0.16.ebuild
>>> md5 files   ;-) mythgallery-0.18.ebuild

>>> md5 files   ;-) files/digest-mythgallery-0.17
>>> md5 files   ;-) files/digest-mythgallery-0.16
>>> md5 files   ;-) files/digest-mythgallery-0.18
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) mythgallery-0.17.tar.bz2
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking mythgallery-0.17.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/mythgallery-0.17-r1/work
/usr/portage/eclass/myth.eclass: line 31: cd: /var/tmp/portage/mythgallery-0.17-r1/work/mythplugins-0.17: No such file or directory
sed: can't read settings.pro: No such file or directory

!!! ERROR: media-plugins/mythgallery-0.17-r1 failed.
!!! Function myth_src_unpack, Line 36, Exitcode 2
!!! Initial setup failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

I have mythgallery-0.17 installed and am trying to upgrade to 0.17-r1. I also have 0.17 of all the other Myth packages (which are all version 0.17 except mythtv, which is 0.17-r1).

Exact same problem with mythmusic, too!
Code:
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking mythmusic-0.17.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/mythmusic-0.17-r2/work
/usr/portage/eclass/myth.eclass: line 31: cd: /var/tmp/portage/mythmusic-0.17-r2/work/mythplugins-0.17: No such file or directory
sed: can't read settings.pro: No such file or directory

Exact same problem here.

I have no problem at all installing mythtv-0.17-r1 , but any of the plugins produce the previously mentioned error. Specifically, I've tried with mythgallery and mythvideo.

Anyone have any news on this? 8O

Yup, same problem. Maybe there is some generic 'plugin' ebuild you have to emerge before, but either way the dependancies are fawqed then. I'll try figurering out what's causing it, and then file a bug report.

Ya, 0.18 everything works again. (Except that mythtv now detects the resolution of screen 0 where as my DISPLAY is set to 0.1 but a --geometry overrides this properly.)

That's what I thought, but I already have every single myth-* package emerged.

mythmusic is particularly annoying because they actually deleted the 0.17-r1 ebuild. I masked -r2 because of this problem, but now of course portage wants to downgrade it to 0.16, which in turn requires that other Myth packages be downgraded... until this mess is sorted out, there's no "emerge -avuD world" for me. :(

At least the 0.18 ebuilds should be unmasked soon.

I simply unmasked 0.18 and use those now.

Only found one problem with 0.18. I run mythtv on my secondary head, however myth thinks the resolution of the first head is better. Therefore the user interface looks borked. starting mythfrontend with --geometry 1024x768 fixes all that however.

To unmask mythtv add the following to your /etc/portage/package.unmask

media-tv/mythtv
media-plugins/mythmusic
media-plugins/mythvideo
media-plugins/myth<any other plugin you require>
x11-themes/mythtv-themes

I have Myth on an HTPC, and if it borks I can't watch TV. So I'll let people like you test out 0.18 for now. :)

Was able to emerge 0.18 successfully.

Someone else hit the same problem with 0.18, though -- see this thread (which has a workaround/solution).
