Good morning gang,

One question. Did somebody managed to start X with new ATI 8.12.10 x86 drivers for ATI X800XT PE? Its killing me, all i have is deep frozen screen (no CTRL+ALT+DEL) after that i must restart manualy. Same drivers work fine on ati 9700 pro. Here on X800 at the end off fglrxconfig i noticed he do not recognize card at all!

Anybody have some links to point me , or have similar problem with X800XT PE ?

PS: I will have my copy of Gentoo later this week and see what can be done.

Thx
Petar

I am running a Sapphire X800 and I am running. Your ChipID might not match any from the ATI drivers list. you should see the list in the Xorg.0.log.

You can find the ChipID my doing this.
Code:
lspci -v

If you do not see your ChipID in ATI's list. Pick the closest one for your card and put that in your xorg.conf

There are a lot of ATI threads talking about problems like this.
