|
|
I have a 200GB harddrive with a 170GB ext3 partition and 30GB of free space. I want to move the free space to the beginning without loosing the data in the 170GB partition.
parted can only move partitions to a completely non-overlapping position.
Is there any way to accomplish this? There should be no problem as long as no more than 30GB is moved at once. Could I do the move manually with dd or something? Can Partition Magic do this? |

Partition Magic can do this (it understands ext2 and ext3), but remember that moving a partition is risky. So I suggest you backup your most important data before doing anything. |

No Linux program that can?
Don't worry about my data. I take responsibility for that part. |
