Failing kde emerge

Hi,

I'm following the "Desktop configuration guide" and am upto the kde part.

However when i perform: emerge kde

it ends up failing and prints the error message

!!!ERROR: dev-libs/libxml2-2.24
!!!Function src-compile, line 26, Exitcode 2
!!!(no error message)

Does anyone have any ideas?
