The only way I was able to install the kernels without a network connection was by this command.

Code:
# mkdir -p /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles
# cp /mnt/cdrom/distfiles/* /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles/

But now that I'm in root. What do I do? Is the ebuild application made for situations like these. Does it really "manually install software." If I have the files in my CD-ROM, what is the command to install KDE from root?

Any ideas?

[/code]

I believe you just have to set the $PKGDIR variable to cd directory like
Code:
export PKGDIR=/mnt/cdrom/package

then you can use emerge -K or emerge --usepkgonly to have it only use already compiled binary packages and to not fetch the sources from the net.

It doesn't work. It just says,
"There is no package able to satisfy 'kde'"

Or something like that.

This gentoo thing isn't going so great. I think I'll just reinstall tomorrow, is there a way to install ALL packages.

You mean, go back to Windows?
