Hi everybody
does anybody have experince of installing sybase ase 12.5.2 on gentoo?
My configuration is:

other info related to Sybase:

of SuSE/Mandrake/Debian and the distribution is detected as "UNKNOWN"
then please check the /etc directory for a file called "<distro>-release"
or something similar (Red Hat/Fedora uses /etc/redhat-release, for example).
Please send me (Michael Peppler - mpeppler@peppler.org) the name of
this file and its contents so that I can update this little script.
Thank you.

You are attempting to install ASE on an unsupported platform.
While ASE will most likely install and run without problems you may
encounter difficulties if you try to obtain support from Sybase.
You can get help for various problems on the net (public forums,
mailing lists, etc.) or you can purchase support through one of the
independent Sybase consultants (Michael Peppler, etc.

Does 2.4.28 have the 4KSTACKS option? If so, disable it.
I think it is in the Kernel Debugging category, at least for 2.6.

4KSTACKS is not available in 2.4.28. It should be in 2.4.29, which is not available right now |

I just finished installing sybase on gentoo, and although I'm not experiencing your errors, I did notice in the sybase EBF's that there has been a lot of fixes for the "infected with 11" type errors. I am guessing that you will need to download a patch for your sybase from sybase.com under Downloads -> EBFs/Maintenance. |
