Não sei se vcs já tinham testado com sucesso o uso do emule com o wine.
Eu tinha tentado há algum tempo com uma versão antiga dos dois referidos softwares, mas não obtive êxito.
Instalei a versão mais nova do wine (20050310) e dessa vez tudo correu perfeitamente.
Não quero aqui fazer apologias aos softwares win32, mas sou fã do emule (que tb é open source) e
não estava satisfeito com os softwares para a rede edonkey disponíveis para linux.
Já testei o amule, xmule e mldonkey, mas prefiro o emule.

Explica-me o que é que o emule tem que a versão 2 do amule não tem?!

O uso da rede Kad é uma boa vantagem.
Parece que a rede Kad ainda está para ser implementada no Amule.
Me corrija se eu estiver errado.

A taxa de download com o suporte a rede Kad ligado é bem maior. Pelo menos aqui na minha máquina.
