identical message here too...and I mean IDENTICAL (used a diff program)

I also noticed someone on the gentoo-users list got the same error as far back as 2/6.
They got no response...is anyone paying attention to this?
Seems like a broken PAM ebuild would be bigger news...or maybe it's something else?

anyways, I ran into this while doing 'emerge -u system'

Since I already had pam-0.77 installed (was trying to upgrade to pam-0.77-r6), I'm giving 'emerge --resume --skipfirst' a try to see if I can work around it.

I'll post tomorrow and let y'all know how it went. Still could use a look from a guru, tho.

Emerge glib-1.2.10-r5 and then pam will emerge correctly:

Code:
emerge =glib-1.2.10-r5

The rest of my 'emerge --resume --skipfirst' ran without incident.

TonyNavarro -- that is the version of glib that I currently have installed...do I need to re-emerge it?

In case I'm accidentally smoking crack, here's the partial results of 'emerge -s glib':
Code:

*  dev-libs/glib
      Latest version available: 2.6.2-r1
      Latest version installed: 1.2.10-r5

Anyone else had success solving this problem by emerging or re-emerging glib at the specified version?

OK, I tried it again...and after re-emerging glib again with:
Code:
emerge =glib-1.2.10-r5

I was able to emerge pam...

still not sure what was going on there, though...
