|
|
Hi,
I've got a Sunblade 150
I've install a new hard drive instead of the 40 GB, the new one is a Maxtor 200 Go 8mo cache
when I install a system, the hard Drive is recognized as a 130 GB (under solaris 10, freebsd 5.3 and gentoo)
Do you know the method to make my HD recognized with the good capacity? |

I suspect that your ide controller is going to max out at 137gb.
try searching sunsolve to confirm. |

Thank You,
I've got the response of Sun :
Nope. Can't do it. It's a hardware limitation of the IDE controller, and third-party controllers will not work. If you need a lot of disk capacity, then go with external SCSI or FCAL peripherals.
