sparc install bootstrap.sh problem

I am cross postiing this just in case (from the installing gentoo group)

Ok. every thing seems to have gone ok up util I ran /usr/portage/scripts/bootstrap.sh

I get all of the Using lines then this:

Claculating dependencies !!! Name error in: category or package part missing
Traceback
<python traceback here>
TypeError: unsubscriptable object

I have read that there is a work around for the x86 and ppc versions using the rescue images but there is not a sparc rescue image. How do I go about fixing this? Howto, pointers to another source, anything at this point would be apreciated.
