I accidently copied a gentoo install stage to /dev/hda3 instead of /mnt/hda3 (knoppix has dangerous mountpoints)
i ran xfs_repair and now have a lot of files and dirs with number names. Is there a way to restore filenames? what does xfsrestore do?
Edit: title changed to fit.

xfsrestore does what is described in the man page
its a utility to restore dumps from xfsdump.
i guess you just borked your data on the hda3 partition. don't know how to get the files back |

the data's still there, that's the thing. It's just that the filenames aren't
and the livecd doesn't have man, my other boxes don't have xfsutils. |
