| I still have this old habit of paranoia if emerge system is interrupted and then recontinued it might skip something important. I just want to make sure this is a blind alley so I don't go getting awol over it. |

It should work just fine.
It's not supposed to mark that it's installed something until after it's installed it. So their shouldn't be any problem. |

| Ive broken compiles directly before they begin actually installing the compiled libraries into the tree, and then when I went and started the emerge again, portage started from the start and recompiled the lot. |
