I had a Enterprise 450 with an unknown version of openboot (i'll figure it out later)

After I do the install and I have my paritions setup
/dev/sda1 /boot
/dev/sda2 swap
/dev/sda3 /

After I emerge Silo it is trying to look in /etc/ for silo.conf
and I was wondering should it stay there?
Should it be copied to /boot

I read in another thread that you need to point the "nvram" at a parition that Open boot can see.

How do I tell what Openboot can see?
If I need to change the nvram pointer, how do I do that?
