I do not know why, but I can only get into KDE if I use 'kdm' started from root. However, I don't want that -- what I'd like is to be able to use 'startx' or 'kdeinit' or what-not when logged in with my normal username (not root).
When I try to do so, it starts X, I gain control of my USB mouse, then in about 25 seconds I get this error:
Code: | libGL error: failed to open DRM: Operation Not Permitted
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering |
And then it quits X.
I am using a Mobility Radeon 7500 with the raedon drivers. Not the line that says
Code: | (WW) RADEON(0): Option "DPMS" is not used |
My XF86Config-4 file as it is in /etc/X11/
My XFree86.0.log file as it is in /var/log/ (That's from running kdeinit once. It's the same for startx.) |
